This week I got sick with strep throat, so I was unfortunately only in the office for 2 days of the week, however these days were full with interesting work.

On Monday, I started off my day by attending a meeting with the Audio/Video production team. Later on Monday, I worked with the Graphic design department to make visual updates to a storyboard. This was an old client video that has had changes requested. I went through the old Illustrator files and made certain changes where requested, such as updating Information, including icons, or even creating completely new designs from scratch for certain frames. Although I am an intern for the Audio and Video department, it was great to help out the Graphic Design department for part of this day and learn something more out of my comfort zone. With AdMed being a small company, there are times when certain people need any help they can get in order to balance everything and keep things on time. In this way, I can see how I am making an impact as an intern.

On Tuesday morning, I attended a production department meeting, which includes departments such as Audio/Video production, graphic design, and motion graphics. In this weekly meeting, each team member discusses what they are working on as a department and individually and asks any outlying questions that they have for other members of their team and departments. The most inspiring part of these meetings, however, is in the beginning when anyone can give a special shoutout to the team member of their choice. It is heart-warming to see someone’s effort get recognized by their team members.

On Tuesday, I was also introduced to one of the final projects I will work on at my internship this summer: a video! I will be creating a video about AdMed with the topic of my choice. After watching two past AdMed Interns’ videos, I have been tasked with creating a 1 page proposal for my video where I will lay out why I am creating the video on the topic of my choice and how I plan to create it. I am still working on the topic at the moment, however I plan to get started soon with only 1 month left to create it.
